Hello! We are Andrea (left) and Deanna(right), two of Sudbury’s talented young ladies.

Coochicoo’s Casting and Paintings all began with casting a friend’s belly to capture her pregnancy. She was trying to have a baby for quite some time. Something to which many can relate to. What better way to preserve that memory than to have a 3D piece of art that shows exactly what she looked like.

Ever since the first pregnancy cast was done we thought that experience should be offered to other mothers to be!

A pregnancy cast is primarily done in the 37th - 39th week, but can be done as early as 32 weeks. The mother stands for approximately 20-25 minutes while Deanna (caster) lays down medical grade casting strips over the chest and belly. In about 5 minutes the cast is dry enough to take off. Afterward, over several days, Deanna will prepare the cast by smoothing the edges and coating the cast to ensure durability and give it its smooth surface.

The final process involves Andrea (artist) to give the cast it’s beauty! Based on consultation, she will paint the cast to your liking to either match the nursery and it’s colors or you can request her to provide a completely customized design to match any room in your home. The cast is then sprayed with a glossy coat that will preserve the color and appearance. Hooks have been built into the back of the cast and approximately three weeks later it is now ready for you to hang with matching satin ribbon.
